Chakrata Hotel Hill Knights is in the best location of Chakrata. Chakrata is the hidden jewels
of Garhwal region of Uttarakhand state.
Situated in 7000 ft in Dehradun district.
Chakrata is a quaint little hill station
and a cantonment area situated between
Yamuna and Tons River. Chakrata was
earlier known as Jaunsar Bawar and
the region is mainly populated by
Jaunsari tribes. Chakrata is an exquisite
hill station situated amidst coniferous,
rhododendron and oak trees. It is
a charming destination situated away
from the hustle bustle of the town
offering tranquil environs and salubrious
weather. Chakrata is blessed with
natural splendors and panoramic vistas
of nature. The view of the spellbound
Himalayan range from Chakrata is enchanting.
To the east of Chakrata, lies the
famous Mussoorie and on the west lies
kaleidoscopic Kinnaur. The access
of foreigners to military cantonment
of Chakrata is restricted. For visiting
Chakrata foreigners have to obtain
a permit from the Commandant 22 Force
c/o 56 APO.

Chilmiri

Neck. The view of the scenic verdant
land and dense forests from Chilmiri

on the travelers. It is an ideal place
for bird watching and butterflies
of different colors and patterns are
in plenty here. The imposing Himalayan
peaks like Swargarohini Peak and the
Banderpoonch are distinctly visible
from Chilmiri Neck.
Deoban:
It is situated 16kms from Chakrata
in the hilly terrains covering the
elevation from 2,200mts to 3,025mts
above sea level. Deoban is an immaculate
spot in Chakrata from where you can
see the captivating and eye feasting
views of the mighty Himalayan range.
Deoban covers area with lush green
meadow on the top of the hilly regions
and by dense forest of deodar oak
and rhododendron. Deoban is rich in
varied flora and fauna and an ideal
place for nature photography.
Tiger
Falls: Tiger falls
is the most popular attraction of
Chakrata. This fascinating waterfall
can be reached by an easy trek of
5km which goes through rhododendron
and oak trees. The adventurous trek
to the Tiger Fall is an enthralling
experience. Tiger falls is one of
the highest waterfalls of Uttarakhand,
falling from about 312ft. The scattered
drops of this majestic waterfall are
collected in a small pond.
Lakhamandal:
Having a historical
as well as mythological significance.
It figures prominently in the annals
of Mahabharata. Legend has it that
the Kaurvas made a shelter house and
conspired to burn the Pandavas alive
here. Lakhmandal is situated on the
bank of Yamuna at a distance of 40
kms. From Our Hotel. To the antiquarian
it provides considerable material
of interest. It contains temples dedicated
to Diva, The five pandava brothers,
Parasuram and Kedar. In order to burn
the Pandavas, the Kauravas had built
their 'Laksha Grah' (house of lac).
The two remarkable well executed figures
in stone of Arjuna and the other of
Bhima are available in the village.
Ram
Tal Garden: 3 kms
from Our Hotel on Chakrata-Mussoorie
route is the Ramtal Garden. The garden
enveloped for greenery, making it
an ideal picnic spot.
Koti
Kanasar: Koti Kanasar
is a beautiful village situated in
dense thick green forests, 25kms or
1 1/2hrs drive from Chakrata. From
Koti Kanasar, one can go on a 2 1/2hr
trek to "Buder Gupha" or
a 3 hr trek to Deo Van.
Kalsi:
Ashoka Pillar Rock Edict built in
450 B.C. at Kalsi represents the post-warfare
era when king Ashoka converted himself
to the Buddhist faith. The edicts
ever aimed at the moral elevation
of his people. An edict at Kalsi made
up of quartz is 10ft in length and
8ft in breadth. This spiritual site
is preserved by the National Archaeological
Department as this edict has great
historical significance. Foreign tourists
are allowed upto Kalsi. For visiting
Chakrata foreigners have to obtain
a permit from the Commandant 22 Force
c/o 56 APO.
Ram
Tal Horticultural Garden:
Strategically located in a picturesque
location, Ram Tal Horticultural Garden
is rich in varied flora and fauna.
It is an ideal spot for bird-watching
and picnicking. An apple garden and
a natural pond in this horticultural
garden are the key points of the place.
Mundali:
Mundali can be reached by a drive
of 36km mainly on unmetalled jeepable
road. Mundali has vast ski slopes
where the professionals can enjoy
adventure sports like skiing and snowboarding.
The accommodation facility is only
available at a Forest Rest House.
Take camping tents with you if possible.
Mussoorie:
Mussoorie is a hill station which
needs no introduction as it is one
of the most frequently visited hill
stations of India. Mussoorie is visited
by millions of tourists throughout
the year. Mussoorie is set in the
foothills of Himalayas in the Dehradun
district of Uttarakhand state. Mussoorie
is situated 79kms before Chakrata
and is set at an elevation of 2,005mts
above sea level. The place is situated
amidst green hills and is rich in
varied flora and fauna that’s
why Mussoorie is also known as ‘queen
of the hills’. Kempty Falls,
the mall road, Bhatta falls, Gunhill
and Lal Tibba are some of the popular
places nearby Mussoorie.
Kempty
falls: Kempty Falls
is popular among the tourists who
visit Mussoorie and this cascading
waterfall has successfully lured tourists
from the very beginning. Kempty Falls
is located 65kms before Chakrata at
an altitude of 4,500ft. The fall offers
astonishing view of scattered drops
of water falling from the height of
40ft and the waterfall splits into
five streams. The falls are closed
during monsoon and winters and stays
opened during summers. Enjoy a vitalizing
bath in this beautiful waterfall.
